Sidewalk Scout is a crowdsourcing iOS app that can be used by the public to report problems with sidewalk quality and connectivity. The app allows users to submit a picture of a sidewalk problem (such as a pothole, obstruction, or surface discontinuity) along with the description of a problem. The sidewalk problem location is automatically attached to the report, allowing the server to precisely identify the location of the sidewalk issues for use in community planning. The Sidewalk Scout server is used to create reports of identified problems for the City of Atlanta that can be used for use in sidewalk and ramp repair prioritization. A website interface (http://sidewalkscout.ce.gatech.edu) allows users to view sidewalk problems reported by Atlanta neighborhood.
